Dubai Marina is a waterfront district of high-rise towers around a man-made canal, and one of the most popular areas for visitors and holiday-home rentals. Because it sits on the coastal side of the city, it is one of the farther starting points for the desert, so Marina pickups are among the earlier ones of the afternoon.
Marina streets are busy in the late afternoon with traffic leaving the beach and the mall. Many towers have narrow drop-off bays shared with taxis and deliveries, so we usually agree a meeting spot a short walk away rather than ask a driver to wait in a crowded bay.
The district also includes Marina Gate and neighbouring Jumeirah Lake Towers. If you are staying on the beach side, the JBR page covers that strip. Whatever your package, the pickup, the dune drive and the return to the Marina are all included.

You book and share your location

You receive your pickup window, meeting point and driver contact on WhatsApp the day before.
Meet the driver at the agreed point
Be ready 10 minutes early. Drivers follow a schedule because other guests are on board.
Drive out to the red dunes
Roughly 60–80 min each way, with a short stop before the dunes where needed.
Safari, camp and dinner
Dune bashing, sunset photos, camel riding and sandboarding, then dinner and shows, depending on your package.
Drop-off back at your hotel
Return times are typically 9:15 – 10:15 PM.
Good to know in Dubai Marina
- Meet on the road side, not the promenade. Marina Walk is pedestrian. We usually suggest a point on the road side of your tower.
- Give the tower name and cluster. Marina and JLT have many similar-looking buildings. For JLT, include the cluster letter or lake name.
- Allow for beach-hour traffic. Roads around the Marina fill up when the beach empties in the afternoon. Being ready early helps.
- Plan a calm early afternoon. With an earlier pickup, finish lunch or beach time by around 2:00 PM so you can rinse and change.
What to bring
