Al Barsha is a residential and hotel district around Mall of the Emirates, with Barsha Heights, Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City directly alongside. It is a favourite with visitors who want a quieter base with easy access to Sheikh Zayed Road.
The area is well connected to major highways, which makes the drive out to the desert straightforward. The busiest spot is around the mall itself, especially at weekends, so we agree an outdoor meeting point instead of waiting in a car park.
Barsha Heights and TECOM have many look-alike towers, so we ask for the building name and a map pin. Package choice, dune activities and the return drop-off are the same as in every other area.

Good to know in Al Barsha
- Meet outside the mall, not inside. Mall of the Emirates car parks are large and confusing. We suggest an outdoor point on a nearby road.
- Check which entrance you are using. Tell us whether you are at the hotel lobby, the mall side or the metro side.
- Beat weekend mall traffic. Roads around the mall slow on Fridays and weekends. Be ready as soon as your window opens.
